I have a 900MHz video transmitter and the output power is 18V DC at 150mA. Would it be dangerous to use a 12V DC 1000mA transformer?
Would it just melt it or what?
Ok, if I keep the volts the same at 18 and used a 1000mA transformer instead of the 150mA then would it be bad?

If it works at all it will actually be working at a reduced power, approximately by half. The mA ratings on the transformers only indicate the maximum amount of current that they can supply if requested by the device being powered. And if you operate this device at a lowered voltage (12V instead of 18V), the amount of current and power the device consumes will be reduced as well.

It is mostly power. You do need to scale the antenna as needed, but at the end of the day, the more powerful the signal, the longer the range.

I do have a FCC license so I can do whatever with it, but I don't know how to increase the range. Anyone know what to do?
it's a 900Mz so maybe a bigger antenna? I don't know what to do.

take it apart, loot for the internal antenna, sand it gently, then solder a long wire to it. OR, just find the antenna, find the wire going to it, and attach a longer wire.

I have one cable outlet on the first floor of my home, it is an old and very large Victorian style home and I would like to put my tv on the third floor. Is there a way i could do this without running cables through the walls.

It will not. I had that but it did not work.
though you can go to Radio Shack and get something simmilar to that.

I was given a Belkin FM Transmitter. I have an Ipod Video. Plugging the transmitter into the ipod is as far as I've gotten.... Now what? How does it work?

find a radio statio that has static or no sound and set the transmitter that that station, turn on the ipod and it should play fine

A video transmitter requires a wide bandwidth and are not easy to design. Maybe the best way for you to build your own video transmitter is to buy a kit. The link below may help.
