how do i connect an old analogue video camera recorder to my pc?
i have an old sony video camera recorder,using Hi8 video cassette,the only connection available is a video/audio jacks, i would like to connect the camera to my computer to edit old videos. how do i do it?

I've heard good things about the Dazzle converter and the K World device, but I'd avoid cheap TV cards - the quality tends to be very poor. If you've got a lot of tapes and you want the best quality possible, have a look at the Canopus ADVC range. Not cheap, but well respected.

.I want to know wat I should do to the disc or to the camera before I start recording.
I bought this camera and it is not as easy to use as the other cameras, I would really appreciate it if u could help me with this.
The DVD needs to be formatted prior to recording. After recording, it needs to be finalized in order to be played back in another DVD player.

Only digital video can be uploaded to a computer.
So, Hi-8 video should first be converted to digital before it is accepted by any computer.

What is a good digital camera / video recorder?
Can anyone suggest me models or series of models for digital cameras that can be used easily for producing videos and sending them to the computer for editing? I don't know much but some features I'm looking for are:
-Timelapse
-Recording with easy input to computer (preferably USB)
-High quality recording is greatest priority
I guess what I'm picturing is more of a video camera rather than a single frame capturing sort of deal. Thanks!
