I want to buy an authentic looking fake outdoor video device to thwart potential break ins.

I'm installing a covert real video device that is hard to detect too, but want a fake one that is real looking.

there are several companies .and the real wireless devices are so in expensive why waste your money on a facsimile go to ask .com and put in surveillance cameras and the will return a plethora of sites and then refine. one thing to keep in mind if you choose the use the wireless do not use them on the inside unless you a premium wireless security package with high encryption and jamming capabilities or some scum back with a wireless enabled laptop can tap the signal and eves drop or case your home from down the street or other remote location depending on what type of signal grabbing equipments that they are using

I want to set up an outdoor video surveillance and need to know what I need.

1. Need a wireless, solar camera because it will be installed 500 ft from my house. Do they have these?

2. Need an Internet camera that broadcasts on the Internet and saves the images so I can view it while working on the computer.

3. Night vision because there are no street lights here.

I'm not sure how you would get a 500ft range... Maybe with a belkin PRE-N router it says on the box says it will get up to 500,000( 5 hundred thousand ) square feet OPEN RANGE. ( Meaning not a lot of trees. )

I think if i am not mistaken that the max range for a wire to be run is 300feet. But i could be wrong so that would not work for you.

With a good router you should be able to get it to work.

As far as a power source you would have to use solar panel with a good size battery time.

I am inquiring regarding home surveillance cameras outside of a home, pointing onto the private property of the home. What are the laws regarding this, such as posting notification of the surveillance or if they are even allowed. I am in the United States, so information regarding the states (specifically) will be of help. Video only surveillance cameras, no sound. Thanks.

We have cameras on our home. They are motion sensored with sound & they record 24/7. We have them on our property only, no one else's. We had them installed for protection due to diff. property damage in our neighborhood. It's perfectly legal. Unless your state has some law against it I don't see why you shouldn't be able to have surveillance of your property. Why don't you call your local police dept. to make sure or better yet your state attorney generals office.

Radio Shack has wireless outdoor video cameras. That's great, but you need to run a wire for power. So, it's not really wireless, is it?

I just purchased wireless outdoor surveillance camera for my house. It is and is not wireless meaning the camera needs a power source. I would like to install 4 video cameras around my house and want to use a SOLAR power device.
Also (please) a SOLAR power device that would generate enough energy to 4 surveillance cameras.
Any suggestions?
