How do you setup TiVo to stream recorded video over a network?
If a TiVo console is connected to a network, is it possible to configure it to make all recorded video available to local computers?
Go to TiVo's website and see if your particular model works with TiVo Desktop Server. If its compatible you're all set.

I need help finding software to record video from a network camera?
I've installed 4 samsung surveillance's cameras. I've networked them to see live video from the shop while I'm at home through the internet. I have a simple player that will record 10 mins at a time. I need to record from the time I leave at night to when I get back the next morning. Don't have much money for further equipment. Is there free or cheap software or something I can get to record as much video as I need for when the shop is closed.
X 10 has some really good someware that seems to be really good.
how it is possible recording video then trasfering over network?
i want to record video with the help of camera and computer , then i want to transffer that files over net upon time query ,
for example if viewer wants to watch clip of 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM then only that clip should transfer and should run on viwer's machine
please help me it is urgent
you need windows media encoder. Go to microsoft site and search and dwnload it and then read how ot sue it.
You can start a live brodcast, save this to a file and at the same time send out the broadcast to others. All you need to do this is have the encoder live on the net and point people to it (for the live stream.) if you want to record the live event and also have it available, say for those who want to view it 5 mins after the start time but start watching from the beginning, you are going to need a stremaing media server that can use the archived file for broadcasting. The configuration of th basic encoder for what you want is relatively simple. The stramnig media server is a little more complex, but still nothing you need to buy books for, that is if u read the documentation that comes with it. A little tip:Buffering on the encoder/server side is going to be your best friend.
Upon re-reading your question, it sounds liek you need a streaming media server. THis can be programmed for times when when certain clips are available. oyu need ot make publising points for the times u want and then set the times it will be available. note that if a person wants to watch a 30 min broadcast that is available from 8:pm to 8:30 adn they start it at 8:25-it will play til lthe end but if they stop it and restart it then it will play the new clip that is set to play at 8:30 (if you have the server set up to play something else at 8:30). This can be done but times are absolute adn not really a good way to make streaming media available to your viewers. Best thing to do is tell viweres its availabe lfrom 8 to 8:30 and set the tiem out for 9. this way if someone views it right at 8:30 they can see the entire 30 mins even if they stop it.

On the At&t network. If you send a recorded video to someone else is that an mms message or something else?
i was just wondering. Cause i have unlimited messaging plan on my phone (unlimited sms, mms, and IM) And how does AT&T know that you are on IM when its just like an internet site. Well i at least think it is. Anyway help me out.
You send the video as an MMS that is what the other person will receive and count as on their plan.
When your on the internet site it counts as DATA not as a message. If you sign onto AIM or Yahoo messanger and then close the browser then it counts towards your message package.

Can I Transfer Video From Dish Network DVR?
My VIP 622 DVR from Dish Network is defective. Now I have to get a new one to replace it. Is there any way to transfer my recorded video that I have on my hard drive to a computer or external hard drive, so I won't lose it? The problem is, the dvr will not stay on longer than about 15 minutes. It just keeps rebooting. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. :)
If it would stay on you could do it. It would cost you some money, but it could be done. Once you get your new DVR, get an external hard drive and Dish will format it for you to store recorded stuff for a one time fee of 35.00. Of cource that is as long as you have a DRV that has a usb port on it.
