i have a large RC plane (alpha trainer) and i want to put a camera on it, like with a live feed. the plane can carry 40 pounds supposedly, but i cannot put a laptop on it (cuz i dont have a laptop. ) i have 2 webcams, so mite i be able to use those? TIA

Video only you can do this... with a WiFi security cam. You'd have to find a way to actually power the camera from batteries in the plane, and you'd need a WiFi receiver on the ground. Sound wouldn't be a good idea, all you'd hear is engine noise and wind.

Range would depend on many things, but ought to be 1/4 mile at least.

Get a program called Active Web Cam. You can then pick the dvr as a video capture device. Then there are various ways with this program you can monitor. The easiest way (but pricey at around $25 a month ) is to pay for your own video stream available 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection. I am trying to mount a camcorder on my boat and what I want to do is have it to where I can remotely turn the camera on and off as well as record on and off. I also want to have the viewfinder screen be a remote lcd screen mounted on my dash. Do you know a good camcorder that I can do this with, at what well I need to complete this install, please tell me all cables or modulator's or anything like that I'll need to do this, and how to do this. I'm pretty sure my video card is gone in my Dell Inspiron B130 laptop. The backlight goes out and when I tried to plug a remote monitor in, I get nothing.

My question, can I replace the video card? If not, what are my options. This laptop is fairly new, only a two years old.

You can't replace the video card it built into the motherboard and the cost of a new motherboard isn't worth it when for the same amount of money you can buy a new system.

I don't care that it wont be HD..just can I connect it to the monitor using the S video connection or even the RCA jacks?
I'd like to switch from PC to PS3 using the same monitor,,,it even has a remote to switch to TV,AV,ans S Video...will it work?

Thanks guys.....You're talking about the RCA cables? Would I be able to connect it with a S video too if I plug it into the back of the monitor?

Yes you can. In fact the cable that you need already comes with the ps3. Its comes with an RCA cable (yellow, white, red)

There are a number of options for you.

1) A DVR like the AVC760. You can connect 1 to 4 cameras, the recorder itself is pretty cheap. It connects to the Internet for live viewing & playback over the Internet and has great motion detection settings that can record on a remote PC or send an e-mail with photos. You can set you e-mail account to send a SMS message if you wish.

2) An IP camera would be a single camera that connects to the Internet. A model like the DCS2120 from D-Link can give remote video to any PC or a mobile phone with 3G. Other models have a Flash card slot to record on a memory stick (like from Sony) or you can use a PC at home or the office to record.
