What is the cheapest combination of two low-profile video cards to run Vista Aero Glass on 3 to 4 monitors?
This is for a work machine (Dimension C521) I'm at my wit's end going back and forth from site to site trying to put together a combination of cards. I have only 3 slots on my workstation: PCI X16, PCI X1, and regular PCI-- in that order. All slots are LOW PROFILE which limits the cards that will fit. With Vista, you can't mix-and-match like XP or 2000. The two cards MUST share the same drivers (so no ATI + NVidia combinations) The PCI slot at literally at the bottom of the case, so no cards with huge fans or heatsinks will fit there. Similarly, the PCI X16 and PCI X1 slots are next to each other, so a PCI X16 + X1 combination would require the PCI X16 card not have an overly large heatsink or fan. Both cards must support the Vista Aero Glass interface and more than likely will have 1 DVI and 1 VGA (which is fine). The primary card (X16) must have at least 128MB RAM, 256MB preferably. The secondary must have at least 128MB RAM. Total budget? $150, but the lower the better.
One last thing that I should have specified. All monitors must display UNIQUE content. So using a splitter is out of the question, since that would just duplicate content.
lol, a single mid range graphic card from 7300 to 7900GT 256MB DDR2 will do solve your problem PCIx.
Or Newer graphic card from 8500GTS to 8800GTX silent 0db from 256mb DDr 2 or 3 will also solve your problem PCIx problem too.
With expensive budgets of $150.00 so the recommendation will be Nvidia Geforce 7300GE 256MB DDR2 at the cost of $100.00 and your VGA splitter shall be less than $50.00.
For display more than 2 monitors, all u need it's a VGA splitter.
There u go, all problem solved with ease of simpilicity.

Why is my eMachines 17f3 monitor suddenly out of focus?
Hey everyone,
I purchased a W3107 desktop PC one year ago February 8th and so far, it's been a very decent, dependable computer. However, for the last few days, my monitor has been out of focus. It has a somewhat bowed look, almost like an hour glass and is clearly off center. I've tried to unplug and plug it back in with the computer off, I've tried to adjust the refresh rate, uninstalled and re-installed the video driver, tried to reset using the monitor itself, and I've tried a few system restores -- all to no avail. I have not hit it, dropped it, or anything to that effect. Can anyone help?
Hi when,
I hear you and I believe by now you may realize that something is definitely wrong because you have been doing all the right things to get it back to normal. To confirm: You already tried to correct / reset the display in the monitor itself and it is still wrong.
If the problem was minor, the buttons on the monitor would have recentered the display and the hourglass would have straightened when the pincushion setting was increased in the monitor.
Even so, there is no "sharpen" or "blur" adjustments in the monitor or in the display adapter software.
This combination of errors tells me that your monitor is failing and will most likely die fail soon. I've seen this many times and it is impossible to tell how long it will be before there is no display at all. Sometimes it happens after days and I have even seen a screwed up monitor last longer than a year.
You may choose to pay for repairs but my opinion is that the repair costs would be almost enough to purchase a decent monitor upgrade.
If you want to make dead sure that the problem is the monitor and nothing else then try this: Take the monitor to another computer and plug it in. This is the easiest way to check it. If it reacts exactly the same then it is toast. You could also borrow a monitor and hook it to your PC. If the display is good when you do this, then your monitor is definitely bad.
Well, that my educated opinion. If you are ready to look for a monitor replacement, then check the links below and take a look. I have used these vendors and I recommend them because they are competitive, reliable and honest.

How can you restore your eyesight?
I have wearing glasses for the last 6 or 5 years. Maybe i weakened my eyes by playing too much video games and being infront of the tv screen or monitor for too long in my childhood.
I'd like to be able to see clearly without having anything on my eyes. Do you know any natural remedies that can be tried? I've heard eating carrots help.
Yes you should eat carrots, but some people just have naturally bad eyesight.

In Floor LCD Monitor?
I am building a bar and have a couple spare LCD monitors that I have acquired. I would like to construct the bar with the screens under the bar oriented face up covered by a hard clear plastic or glass and linked to a dual video multimedia PC housed under the bar. Will LCDs function in that orientation for a good amount of time or will they not work after long? I would of course have plenty of ventilation and airflow through the area. I have only seen documentation on Ceiling mounting for LCDs, but never for floor mounting style. Any ideas?
Should work just fine. I suggest instead of just covering thiem in plexiglass, that you mount one piece of plexiglass across the LCD itself, and then mount it inside the bar side. That way the monitor is completely inside the bar but the screen acts as part of the bar "wall". People will be able to see it and you won't have to worry about anything touching it (including drinks ;-)). I've mounted LCD's in just about every position in a lot of places (even INSIDE desktop computers). They're pretty easy.

Why are all the monitors transparent in the future?
In movies and TV shows, whenever they show computer or video monitors that supposed to be really 'high-tech' and futuristic, they are transparent sheets of glass. This seems rather impractical unless you're in a very dark room the image would always be washed out with the background showing through. Maybe I'm over-thinking this. I'm just curious where this idea came from...
You have a really good point. I think that part of it has to do with everyone wanting things as thin as possible. Razr phones, flat screen tvs and computer monitors, ect.
3D: It's coming homeLike Nvidia's creation, Blitz's system will require a 3D-compatible monitor or TV as well as special glasses, but Oliver says there are vital differences. "Nvidia's technique is clever because it can retro-fit games to display in 3D, but because the
