ok, i ask this because recently my mothers car passenger window was smashed, the strip that runs along the side of my car (across both doors) was 'ripped off' , and just recently - my front bumper was completely written off, it appears as if it was smashed and/or pulled out of place with force although one could only speculate as to the circumstances by which this may have happened.

My area has a long and rich history of car crime I suppose, most notably car stereo systems being thieved (resulting in a window being smashed to access it).

With me, i've had it all - i've had indicator lights removed with precision, i've had hub-caps (rim discs for the wheels) being removed and stolen, windows smashed, deliberate acts of vandalism along the lines of 'scratches, dents etc' .

It really does a number on ones peace of mind, its gotten to the point of which im really fed up with this. I reported this incident involving my car bumper to the police, the cctv idea was suggested by an
extremely polite and professionaly adept young officer on duty that day.

The idea had come to me before, but now it seems like its the only thing I can do to combat these criminal elements.

I figure, if I can capture footage of these ppl doing these things, then I can broadcast it live on any number of online video sharing websites, better yet - submit this footage to the local council or even better - develop a website dedicated to car crime in my town and maybe start up a mini business that sells surveillence cameras to catch scum like these ppl.

if you do the crime, you should also have the priviledge and honour of having all the exposure in the world for your antics - thus my idea being, showing the masses out there what you get up to outside ppls homes in the early hours of the morning.

Some idea as to the appearance, height, build etc of these criminals would be nice - it would give me a bit of peace of mind just knowing.

Do you think I ought to invest in this ?

spy stuff is sort of a misnomer, you need to decide what you are doing. if you are spying, what kind of spying, as in on a friend as a joke for a gage at a party or what

is this remote spying? cable or radio signal to a receiver,

you need to be a bit more specific

I am looking for some type of spy camera that i can set up and watch later when i get home, and be able to put on my computer what kind of cam and equipment will i be needing,

First, any camcorder can do what you ask, just set it up on a tripod and hit record before you go to work. But, I assume you mean hidden camera or some kind of stealth cam. There's plenty of models out there, some disguised as alarm clocks, wall clocks, even stuffed teddy bears - but what's difficult is the recording device. You can hook the camera up to a camcorder or a VCR, but you're going to run out of tape fast. A camcorder with miniDV can capture 60 minutes, a VHS VCR can capture 6 hours in EP mode. Or you can get a survelliance hard disk video recorder that is especially designed to capture 24 hours of footage - but very expensive.

Check out a website that sells X-10 equipment - they have all kinds of gear, from tiny cameras to software that turns your PC into a recording device.

good morning, I NEED HELP!!! i'm thankful for YAHOO ANSWERS, as google can't provide me an answer, all the time. i have all the equipment, a mini spy camera, connected to a digital video camera, but me being a newbie, i need PICTURES/PHOTOs of how those amateurs, at the sitting table, can HIDE THEIR MINI CAMERAs, like, into their TIE, or sleeves?

i want to video record a lunch, at a table of reunion of relatives i've last seen 10years ago, so how do i, sitting down, facing them at lunch, INSTALL MY CAMERA INTO MY CLOTHES? i need help...pls help me!!! thanks, jeremy.

I love working out problems like this, but without knowing how big the spy cam is, there's little we can suggest. I have never seen a typical spy cam so small as to fit into a tie clip. Maybe you can wear a baseball hat that has some large logo on the cap where you can cut a small hole and duct tape the cam inside the hat. But you will not look natural knowing you're constantly needing to "aim" your hat at your target.

But whatever you rig to house/hide the spy cam, you still have to resolve where you're going to hide the camcorder that's recording the footage.

I guess you can bring a back pack, but unless you're wireless and battery operated I don't see how you can hide ALL of the components. Good luck!
