What is a good Spy camera to catch the kids wrecking my car?
My car is outside of my garage and I want something subtle that they wont notice so I can catch them in the act. I would like something that is attached to the outside of the house. Any ideas?!?!
I would put it in my garage but there is a hot tub in there due to an elongated divorce situation. Also, I want to catch them so I can have them pay for the damages.
Since you want something discreet to catch them in the act, look for a CC camera with good infrared performance and infrared lights. Make sure you have more than one, to at least get a clear view of all the cameras doors, tires, and windows.

What are the repercussions of setting up a camera to spy on a boyfriend?
A friend of mine has a boyfriend that has a drinking problem. He drinks behind her back and then lies about it. Apparently, he always drinks alone, but she's not sure about this and has asked me to help her set up a camera in his apartment to record what he's doing when they're not together. She knows I don't particularly like this guy and I think she should dump him because he just keeps hurting her over and over with his drinking problem (that, and he's a total loser). I told her I think it's a bad idea because if she gets caught, there could be serious repercussions. For one, he'd be angry as hell, but does anybody know what the legal repercussions would be?
I don't know what the legal aspect would be, but why don't she just show up unannounced or something or have some friends show up and tell her what is going on?
If she has to go sneaking around to find out what he is doing..he isn't worth it!!

How do you hide a spy camera in a toy clock or light fixture?
I dont understand how this works. I want to put one in my sensor light outside my house but i just dont understand how it can work. Can I maybe hang a plant outside my door and put it in there? I need to catch someone stealing from my house and dumping trash on my lawn please help me!
I was thinking of hanging a plant at the front door and putting a hole in the bowl and the bottom and putting the small mini pin hole camera in there. I still dont know what i need to buy to make this work.
You better use a web cam with motion sensor and fixed it with your PC in recording mode. As the webcam will have motion sensor, it will record only when something moves (ie. anybody comes). You just put it some corner of the house beside some plants or something like this.

Using CCTV/ Surveillence (spy-camera) equipment to catch criminal elements - worth the investment ?
ok, i ask this because recently my mothers car passenger window was smashed, the strip that runs along the side of my car (across both doors) was 'ripped off' , and just recently - my front bumper was completely written off, it appears as if it was smashed and/or pulled out of place with force although one could only speculate as to the circumstances by which this may have happened.
My area has a long and rich history of car crime I suppose, most notably car stereo systems being thieved (resulting in a window being smashed to access it).
With me, i've had it all - i've had indicator lights removed with precision, i've had hub-caps (rim discs for the wheels) being removed and stolen, windows smashed, deliberate acts of vandalism along the lines of 'scratches, dents etc' .
It really does a number on ones peace of mind, its gotten to the point of which im really fed up with this. I reported this incident involving my car bumper to the police, the cctv idea was suggested by an
extremely polite and professionaly adept young officer on duty that day.
The idea had come to me before, but now it seems like its the only thing I can do to combat these criminal elements.
I figure, if I can capture footage of these ppl doing these things, then I can broadcast it live on any number of online video sharing websites, better yet - submit this footage to the local council or even better - develop a website dedicated to car crime in my town and maybe start up a mini business that sells surveillence cameras to catch scum like these ppl.
if you do the crime, you should also have the priviledge and honour of having all the exposure in the world for your antics - thus my idea being, showing the masses out there what you get up to outside ppls homes in the early hours of the morning.
Some idea as to the appearance, height, build etc of these criminals would be nice - it would give me a bit of peace of mind just knowing.
Do you think I ought to invest in this ?

Dennis....don't be a freaking idiot! What I mean is to catch someone cheating!
It depends on what state, video or voice recording and what the purpose is.
Video only nanny cams are legal in all 50 states.
In general, many states video recordings are allowed but voice recordings are not and have heavy financial and criminal penalties.

there is a low-life janitor (pretty certain it is him) that keeps putting some kind of liquid or cleaner on my trunk and is making it all dirty on purpose. i park in a bldg with underground parking but he is walking around all day and i'm pretty certain it is him because he knows i do not like him and he's really creepy and stares at me like a stalker. is there some kind of spy-cam that i can put inside my car to catch whoever is indeed doing this so i can have them fired?
