How do i prevent my internet activity tracking by my employer in my office PC, (in LAN) ?
You don't. Your employer has the legal right to monitor your activities on the office PC. It's probably in your Contract of Employment. If you cannot accept the situation, try find another job. If you found a way to counteract the monitoring, you could get fired for that

Tracking internet activity.. without spyware?
Is there a way to track internet activity without the use of spyware?
I've had very bizarre and circumstantial things happen and I am getting the feeling that an ex-spouse has been tracking my internet activity.
And yes, I do realize this sounds paranoid.
go to your shared file and see if you have anything in them....change all password and names. Not paranoid smart.....
If I install a firewall, will it prevent my wireless router from tracking my internet activity?
Hi, my parents have recently been using the family router to spy on me and find out what I'm up to (although I'm not up to anything bad). Therefore, I was wondering if I installed a firewall, such as ZoneAlarm, will it stop the router from recording my web activity.
No that has nothing to do with it. Think of a firewall as a principal in the hallway who stops the bad boys and girls from going to recess and lets the good ones go and play. A firewall blocks keeps the bad guys out, and gives you more control of which applications can get on the net.
Is internet activity tracked anywhere else on the hard drive besides temporary internet files, history, cookies?
It's my understanding that internet activity is only stored in these places. When I download a video or something, is there a special cache or folder separate from these where downloaded files are stored?
For each browser: History, Recently typed URLs, Last download location. Temporary internet files, Temporary files, cookies, each toolbar history (Google , Yahoo, Etc.)
Also: Empty recycle bin, Media player play lists of recent movies played, My Recent Documents
In addition when these files are deleted they are not overwritten so any free recovery tool may be able to recover these files.
CCleaner deletes all this automatically. It also has an option to overwrite the files when they are deleted so they can not be recovered.

Uncheck "only delete files older than 48 hour" if needed
Select secure file deletion and number of overwrite passes if needed
Set to run (clean) when the computer starts.
Place cookies you want to keep in save list
To make files that have been previously deleted but not overwritten unrecoverable:
Start Restoration > on menu "Others" > Delete completely > Yes >Yes
Will run for about 6 hours.
Then another menu will appear; click yes ; will run for a couple of minutes more and then be finished.
Overwrites all deleted files making them non recoverable. Does not overwrite Windows files, Programs files, or any other files.
Restoration also can be used to recover deleted files.

Employer tracking internet activity?
I have a company laptop that while I was away on vacation, our maid (or her son) booted up and visited some "not so good" websites. I found this out because when we returned, the laptop was open and I looked at the Internet History.
I have no idea if my company has software that tracks my internet activity but my question is: Since she did not log into my companies VPN and surfed the net via my personal wi-fi, COULD my company still find out those sites were visited even if I erase my Internet History and delete any temporary files.
Thanks for you help.
Don't kid yourself anything is possible. But the reality is it would be hard pressed to do something about your personal time and habbits when on vacation.
They could ding you for using company property for work, they could note "weirdo" in your file and wait for a better excuse to come along, or they could just have better things to do.
Most companies will give you 1-3 warnings, but if you have enough money for a maid why dont you buy your self a cheap laptop? Better yet, get the maid out of the house if she is looking at porn instead of cleaning the toilet
