Can a security company employee felons?
I work for a security/access control company who installs security equipment in commerical buildings and private residences. They are allowing family memeber who have felony's work for them. Is this legal??
Sure it is. It is a private company. As long as this person is not armed it is legal. I personally would not hire a felon if I ran a security buisness.

shopping.netledger.com Familiarizes the student with the various types of security equipment and systems that are used in maritime security.
Why are inmates allowed access to gym equipment and allowed to hang out in yards?
Why let them get stronger in jail as their rage grows before parole? Sure exercising relieves stress but they can do aerobics and push-ups all they want just don't let them get too strong.
And I know some prisons, the higher security ones dont allow weights or yards to play in, but then good that makes sense... but you let the misdemeanor and minor felony guys work out and those are the ones more likely to get out eventually... Why are they given these luxuries? I know getting raped makes jail bad enough but we dont want to make it too nice do we?
And heres a more radical idea i suppose, but why not give prisoners female hormone injections to make them weaker and less hostile perhaps, or is that too crazy and expensive to do? maybe you can pay for the shots with all the money you save not having to buy bowflexes...
Heres the thing, making the time pass easier, why? because theyre humans? they did bad things! I think the reason is that the justice system is so screwed that there are a lot of innocent people in jail and for them I empathize, but if we wanted to deal out real justice we would fill prisons full of clocks so that they might have lighter sentences but WOULD SEE EVERY SECOND they were in jail and that would be so powerful, sure some would go completely insane, but to me thats justice and a real punishment.
I think the whole point of prisons is to make sure people DONT GET INTO THEM in the first place, prisoners are people but they are also EXAMPLES and we have a big problem with morality in this country, too much liberalism if you ask me, and I am one myself, but I think there are parts of society that need to be tightened up and other parts that dont, thats why I wont resign myself to a specific political party, thats not the way you get things done, you have to look at everything individually and understand why they are going wrong before you can fix them.
LOL Hormones . Good idea but the ACLU would be all over on that , Uhmm In Federal Prison they have no Weights , can't speak for State Prisons . But here is a more Radical Idea , Make them work to eat , ya know farm and raise their own food , cows and veggies , and the excess is sold to support the prison system to pay for guards and staff . make them work on chain gangs and take away their TVs Oh wait the federal court says they have to have TV . Make them work for their keep Hell we have to why not them . Make Prison a bad place to be so they wont want to go back .Do like the Sheriff out in Az. take away all the fun no A.C. No Coffee and Tobacco . just the bare minimum to survive

Have you read about the new security towers for the southern border?
Boeing Builds Tower To Secure U.S. Borders
Boeing has successfully tested a networked mobile sensor tower, which is one of many planned for the U.S. Secure Border Initiative.
The 98-foot towers use radar, wireless access data points, communications and computer equipment, and a tower security system. It monitors the border for movement and staff members notify Border Patrol Agents of suspicious activity. Agents receive a map, or Common Operating Picture, showing the coordinates on their mobile laptops.
Glad to see something is being done, finally.
I also think we need a double fence on the border approximately 50 feet apart with a guard dog patrol in the area between the 2 fences.
I also think the actual patrols by the border patrol need to be increased and the numbers of the border control agents tripled.
We have so much more land that borders with Canada with very little border patrol there - we do not have a problem with canadians trying to get in the US illegally, just the mexicans on very small stretch of border that we cannot seem to control.
If we have to hire enough border agents to stand side by side all along the border between mexico and US - let's do it.

My camera was stolen from work,is the employer liable?
I was asked to take pictures of co workers to be displayed on a board at work.I used my own equipment, and was in the middle of completeing the assignment when someone entered a secure area and stole my camera and cell phone. The employer is a large metropolitan hospital.Do i have a right to make a claim against the hospital at the risk of my employment? Should they be insured for such losses? What if any are my options or can i just kiss my camera good by and take the loss? I filed a local police report and a report with hospital security. Two months after the incident the hospital installed keyed access security in the building.A similar system was in place at the time of the theft but apparently didnt deter the thief.
If you were asked to bring your camera to work as a direct part of your job, then the employer is responsible for articles stolen from a secure area.

The following is an excerpt from Lucent Technologies’ Management?
Executive Summary
We design and deliver the systems, software
and services that drive next-generation communications
networks. Backed by Bell Labs
research and development, we use our
strengths in mobility, optical, access, data and
voice networking technologies, as well as
services, to create new revenue-generating
opportunities for our customers, while
enabling them to quickly deploy and better
manage their networks. Our customer base
includes communications service providers,
governments and enterprises worldwide.
We have three segments organized
around the products and services we sell.
The reportable segments are Integrated Network
Solutions (“INS”), Mobility Solutions
(“Mobility”) and Lucent Worldwide Services
(“Services”). INS provides a broad range
of software and wireline equipment related
to voice networking (primarily consisting
of switching products, which we sometimes
refer to as convergence solutions, and voice
messaging products), data and network
management (primarily consisting of access
and related data networking equipment
and operating support software) and optical
networking. Mobility provides software and
wireless equipment to support radio access
and core networks. Services provides deployment,
maintenance, professional and managed
services in support of both our product
offerings as well as multi-vendor networks.
Beginning in fiscal 2001, the global
telecommunications market deteriorated,
resulting from a decrease in the competitive
local exchange carrier market and a significant
reduction in capital spending by established
service providers.This trend intensified
during fiscal 2002 and continued into fiscal
2003. Reasons for the market deterioration
included general economic slowdown, network
overcapacity, customer bankruptcies,
network build-out delays and limited availability
of capital.
We believe that the market for telecommunications
equipment has stabilized
and is starting to grow in certain areas. The
growing demands of enterprises and consumers
for additional services tailored to
their needs is creating the need for a new
convergence of networks, technologies and
applications.
