I won't go into the soap opera but I have a gps tracking device on my car and I want to turn it over to the police. This is my car and I am an adult. I really would appreciate some advice.

I've been told the tracker emits a signal that can be detected with a divice. Another was to walk around my car with a AM/FM radio with dial all the way to the top so there is static and when static changes rythmically, bingo! Finally, I was told that it is the size of a pack of gum and can only be found by sight.

Do any of these suggestions hold water? Your suggestion for finding? Are there preferred places these things are located?

its no biggie, just ask the Manufacturer...there will tell you which dealership has the tech guy who knows how to get to it...its suppose to be in a secret place anyhow...

Global Positioning Satellite / Autonomous ( or automobile) Tracker.

It is any device ( such as your cell phone) which communicates with the network of global positioning satellites and reports that position to another person or agency. Every cell phone is in theory a GPS tracker because in order to maintain communication, every phone must squawk information of its location to the nearest cell-phone repeater tower. The tower works in conjunction with satellites and other towers to triangulate the phones position. Along with the voice data that is being transmitted, each phone has a carrier signal. The timing and signal clarity from this carrier identifies the phone, and simultaneously triangulates position.

This could be a real boon in an emergency if your are incapacitated, confused, disoriented or lost. As another responder noted, it can also be used by "big brother." That is NOT a good thing.

How does it work? What power source does it run off? Does it display an accurate listing like a normal GPS device does?
And how does the bluetooth feature work? Do you need online access on your mobile phone? Would love to hear from anyone cheers

I have never heard of this product but I have installed many of the TrackStick GPS Car Tracking Systems for my commercial customers and they work great plus they have been around awhile also you can read about them at their site and if interested you can buy them off ebay.....
