Lo Jack Marines. why not install a GPS Tracking Chip in our Marines and Journalists in Iraq and Afghanistan.
With all these abductions we are sure to benefit from easily locating our brave men in Uniform.

The GPS technology requires that the antenna (even a small patch antenna) have an unobstructed view of a constellation of at least three satellites. That is tough to accomplish inside a building or in a cave or other sheltered area.

I would think that there would also be a temptation by captors to carve out an implant from a prisoner even if the technology could have worked.

how do you parents feel about having a chip implanted in your small children, so that if they get abducted we can track them? or is there anything like this out there?
by the way i mean little children who cannot defend themselves well.

lol yup i was watching nancy grace. and a lot of children are abducted in their own homes too.

what if your asleep in your room and your child is in his/her room and someone breaks in somehow and takes your child.

the best parents could still get thier kids abducted.

it's scary to see how many parents still think its ok to let thier 12 year olds out by themselves riding bikes or what not. bad things happen regardless if you think things are safe.
eh i dont know about that. it might be possible that our goverment could double cross us. but so far i havn't heard any stories about cars being tracked by criminals, through the gps.

I would recommend a technology that would allow parent to give to a child when they are going out. Vin R is on the right track. But it would be cool if parent could make up a code at a moment notice. Let say a child is going out to the movies with friend and you make a code for a device they would carry that night. This way no one would have the code or know about the device. A device that would work with a Website or a satellite or both would be great.

If you would not want your child to be taken from your home I would recommend a good security system. And you can put the device on your child while they sleep with a new code. The device should resemble all types of products, so we can obtain the products we want. So it would be hard for thieves to find. Let see make look like a cell phone, Ipod, belt buckle, earrings, insert in shoes, tooth filling, safety pin on panties or underwear, and a watch what ever….



Have it auto activate if the device has been away from home more then let say 5 mins (in the evening) or 30 mins (day) what ever.

Try this , it is sold for use on dogs but it will work on a bike, you just need to find a place to hide it. ( under saddle ? )

almost all cell phones are equipped with GPS contact your carrier and see what phones that they have that have these capabilities included... you may need to activate something within the phone itself...

i bought a car on financing in canada that has GPS that can actually shut off the car and track it wherever i go. i find this an invasion of privacy. I received a remote to enter codes (such as 999 9999 when the car turns off so I have 24 hours to move it..)

can i install this, anyway around this? i don't like it.

The GPS is connected straight to your OBD2 connector that is located directly under the steering wheel. It looks like a plug for a nintendo. I know that you can disconnect it but as far as the vehicle running it just depends on how they wired it to your ECU / ignition system. Don't listen to agent he is talking about lo jack. Not a financial institutions system to track down/recover their assets/vehicles.
