I'm doing a little online research but am having a hard time finding a good car alarm that is equipped with some kind of gps tracker so that I can always know where the car is. Anybody know where I can find something like this?

First, if your car is stolen, you do not want it back. Someone stealing your car is going to cause sooooo much damage to your car it will be better to just take the insurance payment. Plus your car will never be the same.

ok i need advice i started my own shop on installing car alarms stereos amps gps sistems pretty much car electronics the way i advertice my self is word to mouth that gives me good income for me and my baby boyis there a way i can grow more get more clients anybody out there haves any advice and if your advice helps me i will give you any kind of stereo amp or alarm at my cost.

most people just want clean, reliable installs for cheap. for every guy who wants custom interior work and record breaking spl levels there are five thousand who want what they want (be it features like a screen, or mp3) or more boom, or better imaging and soundstage. and most of those people want you to show how you can do more with less than most other installers. show me a demo car with $800 or less worth of gear, but sounds really kick ass, and I'm more likely to trust you with my install.

Yesterday I had my my truck keyhole popped and someone tried to steal it. But instead they just took my GPS unit. I couldn't believe it. Now I'm thinking of shaving my doors and putting an alarm on. Which alarm would be best or does anyone know if a shaved door kit would be good to have, other than breaking the window can someone get it?

Yesterday I purchased a GPS and I feel like I need to take some security measures for my car to prevent my electronics from being stolen. Along with the GPS I have an iPod connected to a Harman/Kardon Drive+Play unit, an Escort radar detector, and an older Alpine radio. As it stands, my car is begging for its window to be broken out and have everything stolen.

I have a car alarm, but as everyone knows, they are almost useless.

I could remove every item (radio faceplate, gps, ipod, radar detector) and carry it with me every time I got out of the vehicle, but this is far too much trouble.

Is anyone aware of a security accessory for their auto electronics? I appreciate any help or suggestions.

stick it in your glove box and lock the door? also they have aftermarket alarms/remote starts that tell you via the remote when the alarm is going off which is a little more useful than flashing lights.

i have the same problem but when all else fails hang around awhile and carry a big stick.

I just bought a portable gps, an InVion touchscreen. Do most people leave it in their cars, or do you take it with you when you go? My car has an alarm, but I would hate for someone to break my window to steal the gps system. (idk if it matters, but I have an '08 scion tC)
I just was wondering if it is common to leave it in the car or not, I'm not saying that I do what everyone else does. Grow up CJ.

last year over 850,000 gps's were stolen out of peoples cars. and when you take it off the thing that sticks to the window and put it in your glovebox theives will know its in there cuz they see the suction stand. take it out everytime you park. also during the summer if its in their for a while its not good for it either

i have a 95 tercel was driving fine today, went in the night tried to start the car nothing happens, no click noise nothing, and top of that the car alarm goes off feebly (the car is a manual lock, ) if i remove the key, but if the car interior light is on i can remove the key and the car alarm wont go off, also the green light on my GPS adapter goes on when the key is in , and so does the brake light (if the handbrake is up) but nothing else works, any idea wats wrong?
also the battery is new (less than 6 months old) the headlights were left one only once for 45 mts but car was running fine after that till now

For sure check the battery with proper equipment plus most places will test your battery free of charge if you bought it either from them or they Honor the battery's manufactures warranty's.
On a car that age I'd highly recommend you not just finding a used good alternator but also over hauling that cars electrical system.
Keep in mind that any vehicle that age that hasn't had a full electrical system overhaul is more then due to have a through over haul for many reasons.
No 1 is if the starter is forced to over work due to a bad ground or connection in the charging system then you'd end up changing the battery ,plus then the alternator and yes the starter too and maybe several times too.
No2 is if the engine is going to run to its peak performances the first thing is how well the gas gets to the engine and how pure and sharp the high voltage from the ignition system spark plugs wires etc ignites the gas.So in fact a bad electrical system can cause the engine to even have to over work , never mind the other components of the vehicle.
No3 is all the vehicles electronics requires a good clean stable signal and once again the vehicles comps are highly sensitive now a days especially to current.So you could even confuse the vehicles comps by having a bad electrical system. Thus replacing things not needed at all.
You mentioned a car alarm is it after market?Those can really drain the battery over night especially if the battery isn't being fully charged by the alternator.But be sure to check to see if the altrenators belt could be a bit loose or a battery post loose.
If I were you I'd either have someone you know likes working on cars clean the starter , battery , alternator posts and connectors, all the grounds , especially the engine block,ignition coil connects, all plug in connectors and connections, sensor connectors and connections, grounds to the cars comps.
If you're having interior lights a bit weak or flickering of lights of any sort or slight weak headlights or hard starters at times especially in the cold weather and your planning on keeping this car a while longer I'd really have that stuff done.

Hope that helps and best of luck. By the way if you've cold weather in your part of the world and a after market alarm I highly suggest you buy a battery of at least 850 cranking amps.Ever buying a new battery try Interstate.
