Select hardware and material assuring compliance with specifications and product, requirements. Lead development and execution of test plans for proof of concept for new components and systems. Perform design & development including layout, analysis, evaluation, prototype build, and testing of mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical components and systems. Qualified candidates will possess a BSEE with emphasis and/or experience in circuit/hardware design. 2+ years relevant hardware design experience. Experience with microprocessor based designs and development; Board level analog and digital design; software and firmware development. Experience with design and specification using RS485, RS232 , J1939, MODBUS and CAN networks. Experience programming in LabVIEW, preferred. Working knowledge of cranes and / or boom truck dynamics, preferred. Must be able to occasionally travel and/or work in the field.
Will work within engineering team to develop new product, taking it from concept through prototyping, to debugging and release. Responsible for the design, validation and launch of electrical/electronic hardware associated with Company products and systems. Translates VOC/OEM information into actionable design objectives for products. Define system level design proposals describing complete technical architectures and solutions. Designs and develops electronic circuits and assemblies, including microprocessor selection, relevant interfacing circuits and input/output circuits at the module and systems level. Utilize Electrical (OrCad or similar), PCB layout (APDS PCB, or similar) and Mechanical (Solidworks) tools to execute designs. Research, interpret, and incorporate appropriate industry standards (SAE, ASME, OHSA, UL, CE, etc…).
