I need to format my hard drive and reinstall Vista, because i believe i have many registery errors and other bugs, and I would like to start from scratch. I already have all my personal data backed up on a external hard drive but I'm worried about my programs. When i format the computer they will all be lost. I CAN reinstall them using the disks, but will they still work, if they only allow one computer to be activated with it?

You will loose EVERYTHING that is not backed up. You will have to re-install all programs. You should be able to re-activate them as well. You may have to contact the vendor to reset the license.

I have bugs in my basement. They look like ants and sometimes there are very tiny black ants without wings crawling around with them. They don't look like any flying ant photos I have seen. They don't exactly fly even though they have wings, they just sort of flit around. They show up by the tons every so often and I can't figure out what they are or how to get rid of them. I tried to take a photo but they are so small that it was blurry. They have black bodies and brownish tinted transparent type wings. Please help...I don't know what to do with these things...I usually suck them up with the sweeper.
I have tried foggers and they still come back every so often. Yes, we store extra food items such as fruit and veggies along with frozen food here. I never see them near that stuff though..usually they are coming out of cracks or all over the wall or floor.
I am still not entirely sure that they are flying ants. I know that is a reasonable assumption, but their bodies don't look like any I have seen in photos. They are totally black with the head and middle section touching and then there is a tiny striaght line area and then the thorax. I will try the peppermint oil and see how it goes.

I was thrilled to death to find a suggestion about using peppermint oil to deter ants. It works great! They won't cross the lines that I painted and just the fumes alone have driven the rest away. And it's cheap! A bottle from the health food store was only $4.99 and a little goes a very long way. But make sure you wash your hands before you touch your face or anywhere else more delicate.
A couple of drops on a counter, spread with a damp sponge or on their favorite areas (including under the sink) keeps them away.

I live in the midwest and near the woods. No matter what I do I get these pesty orange lady bugs all over the house-especially in the windows that are warmed by the sun. What can I do besides fill my sweeper with them?

there is a product called bingle gold..they sell it at places like southern states...or feed stores..it works great and keeps them gone for 6 months

My computer has a virus in which these blue bugs appear on the screen and appear to eat it. How do i fix whatever is wrong with my computer? I have already tried scanning it with AVG and Spy sweeper.

Click start>click run type in msconfig and then press enter. Goto the start up tab and uncheck everything except your anti virus.click ok and reboot. When you come back to the desktop check the box 'do not show this message again" and click ok .

I have read you should not run more than one antivirus program at the same time. Does that only apply to real time scanning / shield? After trying EVERY internet security suite after problems with Trend Micro’s early 2007 version. I am now back with Trend Micro Security Suite 2007 (past bugs fixed apparently). However, to be extra safe I would like to run scheduled daily scans by AVG, single scans only no resident shields or real time protection? Will this cause conflicts too?

I am currently running Ad Aware, Spyware Sweeper, and the Trend Micro Spyware Sweep with no apparent problems there.

Thanks for any tips.

Only have one antivirus program and one firewall installed on your computer.
