Electronic Bug / Camera Detectors?
Does anyone know a store where I can buy an electronic bug/camera detector in Toronto, Canada?
The digital feature detects bluetooth, WLAN, Wi-Fi and cellular phone signals. It also detects up to 6 GHz wireless analog signals. This device is ...
can we buy bug detectors in normal shops? if yes, where?
Because this is posted in the Electronics forum, I'm assuming that you are talking about "bugs" as in hidden listening devices and not "bugs" as in insects.
If that is the case, you can buy equipment that claims to be able to detect bugs from various on-line sources. Some bigger cities have security equipment or "spy" equipment shops that also sell this equipment. Some devices sell for less than $100 US.
However, the truth is, none of this equipment works well and it is doubtful you would be able to detect a professionally installed bug using it. It's fun to play with, but your chances of detecting an actual bug with it are quite small.
To properly detect listening devices requires equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars and specialized technical skills. If you are serious about this, I would suggest you contact a private investigator in your area. They will either provide this service themselves, or will be able to refer you to an expert that can help.

the range of "Mobile Bug detector" ?
Dear sir.
I have circuit that called "Mobile Bug detector" with range 1.5m detection, but I need to increase this range to 25m how I can do that?
Are you sure the "1.5 meter range" is actually the distance?
Usually, Bug Detector manufacturers specify the frequency range only, and 1.5 meter would be in the high FM range (approx. 200MHz).
To "promise" a distance range would be bull@#$% because it all depends how strong the signal from the bug itself is.
What they do specify (and promise) is the sensitivity, measured in -dBm
The new PRO7000FX is the ultimate Professional handheld Bug Detector. It packs all the necessary features of a professional RF (Radio Frequency) Detector: Ultra Wide Frequency Range (0-7200 MHz), High Sensitivity, 10 Segment Bar-graph display and Audio Confirmation. Once a suspect signal is detected its signal strength will be displayed with optional audio beep tone to help you pin point the signal source. The PRO7000FX can also be set to silent vibrate mode for ultra discreet or concealed use, in a jacket pocket for example. With the supplied earphones connected the signal can then be demodulated and heard to confirm the presence of hidden microphones.
