I want to know because I just got canned from a job that has such surveillance, has even admitted to hearing personal telephone conversations via said surveillance and I would love to know how to turn them in.

No. You have no "reasonable expectation of privacy" in a business.

Recording a telephone conversation requires consent, but if the company owns the phones, they can listen in perfectly legally.

It sounds like a very wide scope for a business, especially when you think about the large amount of inventory you'll need at start-up.

Are you thinking about strictly online-based business? You may be able to make a deal with distributers to purchase each item you sell on an order by order basis.

My N80 can become a webcam, but I need to use my phone..

It sounds like a rather complicated thing you are trying to do there. Yes surely you can switch your phone in the middle, in order to get the bluetooth through... but why not buy a usb web cam for a few quid ... and bob is your uncle?

There was a time when I tried to save every penny... but the hussle overtook me. I like things done properly now :-)

Doesn't the public have to know and employees that thay are beign recorded. Especially phone calls.

Since it's a business I do not think it's illegal.

I have one elderly mother and a mentally retarded brother who lives with me.

I kind of worry about them when I work during the day, although I live in a safe rural community and have great neighbors.

Are those home video and audio surveillance monitors worth getting?
When I'm home I have a shotgun just in case something happens.

As long as you let them know that you are installing video surveillance to ensure everything is okay when you are away, there should be no problem.

There used to be a nice webcam that had a motor so you could use it from another PC and see what is going on at home. I haven't seen the webcam for a while but it was a nice substitute if you want to do some surveillance over the internet and on the cheaper side.
