I just bought a Sony digital audio recorder so I could record interviews. I have something on it that I now need to get to my computer, but it's a 40 dollar recorder so it didn't come with wires or anything. Is there any way to get it onto my computer?

Best quality transfer would be if you get a cable (Radio Shack) to go from the headphone jack to the line in or microphone input to the computer (sound board). Check which way sounds better (via the computer speaker(s)).
If that is not an option, hook up a microphone to the computer and record the sound output from the recorder.

I make movies with my friends, and I want the audio to sound good. However, I don't have the option of attaching a microphone directly to my camcorder. So I have to resort to a digital audio recorder to record the audio seperately from my video, import it into my computer seperately, and sync it to match up with the video. I have Final Cut Express so that won't be a problem. I just need to know of any suggestions for a digital audio/voice recorder that has good quality sound, supports a Mac, and under $100.

My digital audio recorder creates only wma files when I download its content to my pc. I wanna open these files in Cooledit, but can't seem to get the file type requirement right. I tried saving the wma file as a wav, which is supposed to be ok for both app's, but when I opened it in Cooledit, it's nothing but loud hiss. Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with the software, but what version are you using?
I was just reading about it and saw that Adobe bought it over and renamed it Adobe Audition. On their support site they say that that version supports WMA files. Maybe you can try this one instead http://www.soundeditordeluxe.com/features.html

I somehow managed to break the USB port on my Sony ICD-P520 Digital Audio Recorder - any ideas on how to rig it so I can still download the audio files onto my computer?

Bring it to one of sony's repairs branch and let them repair it!

I'm going to a concert (reserved seating) in a week and would like to live tape it. I used to do this with a tape recorder but its been about 4 years and am now looking at upgrading to digital equipment. The thing is, I'm on a budget. Looking to spend under a $100 on the recorder and under $50 on a mic. I'm not too keen on buying a used mini disc, was never too interested in those players. So, I'm wondering what digital record on a budget would get me the best quality sound on such a budget. It needs to have a line in for the mic as I believe having that would aid in improving the sound quality caught. Thanks!

get one that is at least 100 cause they will last long and have good quality.

try philips or sony.. philips are always high quality but dont last long... but sony's are pretty good altogether
