i have audio cassets with very old songs. how can i transfer them to CD with the help of cpu/monitor

Yes, you can. You use a cassette deck, plug the line out of it to the line in jack on your computer, and use Sound Recorder to record it onto you hard drive. When you get that done you can burn a CD. I did several of my old cassettes of interviews with my grandparents who have since passed away. Sound Recorder is part of Windows. Go: Start-all programs-accessories-entertainment-sound recorder.

My HP Pavilion PC(bought in 1999) was upgraded in 2003, motherboard included. It has the original HP CD RW drive which is currently not working. This PC seems to have built in sound (not sure, one of my questions is how to find that out?)

I want to be able to do the following
1. convert my audio cassettes to CDs
2. convert my VCR tapes and Camcorder tapes to CD/DVD
3. Edit video recorded on tapes / camcorder (I saw good reviews for Dazzle Video Creator Platinum )

What are the best options (hardware and software) to achieve the above?

For the CD/DVD burning part I saw the Pioneer DVR-710B5PK 16x Internal Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive on sale in bestbuy, but this needs ATAPI drive and graphics card with 30MB RAM, how do I know whether my PC has this already? How do I know what drive is compatible with my PC?

Any advice is appreciated.

If you are using Internal Audio, there would be 3 ports at the back ( Sound input and output ports) just below the USB ports. And if its way below like below the AGP card. Then You use a Sound a sound card.

Anyway you will need a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor to the stuff you wanna do.
